About The Position

The Pool Maintenance Specialist Trainee helps maintain pools at client and associated facilities. Working with Pool Maintenance Specialists and Pool Service Specialists, the trainee assists with pool cleaning, water testing and treatment, equipment inspections, and maintenance recordkeeping. The role includes training in maintaining the correct color, chemistry, and clarity of pool water.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of related experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Understanding of pool-cleaning chemicals and swimming-pool equipment.
• Mechanical and manual-labor skills related to aquatic facilities and equipment.
• Math skills to calculate chemical additives and ratios.
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds at a time.
• Adequate sight and hearing to interpret water analyses and equipment readings and complete recordkeeping.
• Physical ability to perform all aspects of cleaning, checking, and monitoring pools and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pool Maintenance Specialists with cleaning and maintaining filled pools and facilities by skimming, vacuuming, and performing chemical treatments.
• Periodically empty pools for deep cleaning, including brushing and scrubbing walls, floors, and other surfaces.
• Assist Pool Service Specialists with regularly testing pool water for pH, chlorine, bacteria, algae, contaminants, and other data.
• Receive training from Pool Service Specialists on maintaining the correct color, chemistry, and clarity of pool water.
• Calculate and add chemical treatments to maintain pH balance, eliminate contaminants, and address other water-quality problems.
• Inspect pools and equipment.
• Assist Pool Service Specialists with completing and maintaining daily logs of chemical usage, water quality, repairs, and supplies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
