About The Position

The Pool Attendant greets guests arriving at the resort pool, maintains the cleanliness and appearance of the pool deck, and provides quality service to members and guests. The role includes preparing pool furniture and umbrellas, managing towels, maintaining the pool and hot tubs, and assisting with pool events. The employee works outdoors and must use chemicals and equipment safely and respond calmly and professionally to emergencies. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, or one to three months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous hospitality experience is preferred. Knowledge of pool cleaning and general pool maintenance is a plus, though training will be provided to a quality individual. The employee must be able to read and understand simple instructions and communicate accurately and concisely in English.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to communicate in English and express oneself accurately and concisely.
Ability to apply common-sense understanding to detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations in a quick, courteous manner.
Ability to work outdoors throughout the day and perform general pool maintenance tasks.
Ability to use chemicals and equipment safely.
Ability to stand, walk, use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and frequently climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Previous hospitality experience.
Knowledge of pool cleaning and general pool maintenance.

Responsibilities

Clean and prepare chairs, lounges, and umbrellas according to the pool diagram.
Open all umbrellas and place towels in guest chairs.
Stock the towel cabana and open it for guests.
Perform filter backwashing as needed and maintain pool chemicals and water levels.
Brush and vacuum the pool and hot tubs, and scrub pool tiles.
Provide guest services, including rentals and product sales.
Update the conditions board as needed.
Keep the pool area clear of dishes, glasses, and trash.
Provide pool towels to guests and return used towels to the laundry for washing.
Track pool towels using the pool towel-tracking sheet.
Keep pool chairs, lounges, and umbrellas clean and in working condition.
Report maintenance and safety concerns promptly.
Work a flexible schedule that may include day or night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Assist with pool parties and events as needed.
Respond to emergency situations in a calm, professional manner.
