About The Position

Johnson Memorial Health is seeking a Polysomnographic Technologist to perform polysomnograms. This role involves reviewing patient records, setting up and calibrating equipment, monitoring sleep studies, recognizing and recording clinical and physiological events, and scoring the polysomnogram to generate reports. The technologist will also utilize infection control procedures, handle and clean contaminated equipment, and comply with departmental and JMH policies. Additionally, the role includes interacting with home health care services, providing accurate and timely information, participating in Quality Improvement/Performance Improvement activities, and performing other related duties as assigned. All activities must be conducted in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and JMH policies, including Blood and Body Substance Precautions. The position also requires continuous support of the Mission and Values of Johnson Memorial Health.

Requirements

  • Must be a certified respiratory therapy technician or registered respiratory therapist or a registered polysomnographic technologist (R.PSG. T.).
  • Current BLS for CPR for Healthcare Providers certification required.

  • Previous education in allied health or life sciences is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Performs polysomnograms.

  • Provides appropriate services to meet the needs of the department's customers as requested, including but not limited to the provision of accurate and timely information.
  • Participates in Quality Improvement/Performance Improvement activities as determined by JMH administration, including JMH operations improvement.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Clearly communicates and continuously supports the Mission and Values of Johnson Memorial Health.
  • Conducts all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and Johnson Memorial Health policies and procedures including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.
