This position works under the supervision of the Sr. Administrative Director/ Cardiopulmonary Services or designee, Supervisor and upon the orders of a physician. The technologist performs technically high-quality PSG testing as outlined in the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), including CPAP/BIPAP/ASV/AVAP titrations. They maintain sleep apnea and titration logs, demonstrate knowledge and skills for age-appropriate patient care, and perform non-invasive polysomnography using 16 or more channels. The role involves correctly and accurately placing PSG monitors, setting up CPAP/BIPAP/ASV/AVAPS, administering oxygen therapy, and charting patient events. The technologist will also use the Hospital EPIC/Meditech computer system, perform equipment maintenance and cleaning, and handle related duties such as stocking supplies and clerical tasks. Staying current on sleep literature and new technologies is also a responsibility.
