•$130,000 - $150,000•Hybrid

About The Position

The Center for Global Development’s Market Shaping Accelerator seeks an experienced, self-directed policy professional with a strong foundation in microeconomics to help design workable pull mechanisms, including Advance Market Commitments, and advance their adoption by governments, multilateral institutions, and philanthropies. The Accelerator works to catalyze market-shaping mechanisms that incentivize innovations addressing global challenges such as global health, pandemic preparedness, climate, AI safety, and drug repurposing. The Policy Fellow will serve as a thought partner to the MSA directors, applying practical judgment about institutional constraints and stakeholder incentives to move ideas toward implementation. The Fellow will collaborate with industrial organization economic theorists and policymakers, assess the logic and feasibility of proposals, identify routes to adoption, and build relationships with stakeholders. The role works across projects and with MSA team members, helps set priorities and move work forward independently with strategic guidance from MSA leadership, and reports to the MSA Director. The position is based in a hybrid work environment, with staff required to be in the office at least three days per week. CGD is registered to employ staff residing in Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia; candidates must be able to declare a primary residence in one of these locations. CGD will sponsor United States work authorization, subject to CGD and the candidate securing the necessary work visa(s). The salary range is $130,000–$150,000 per annum, commensurate with education, skillset, and experience. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and the position closes December 1, 2026, at 11:59 ET.
