About The Position

HealthPartners is hiring a Health Policy Fellow Intern for its Policy Fellow program. The program helps aspiring attorneys, compliance officers, policy analysts, and government relations professionals build a working understanding of the state legislative process, its impact on the health care industry, and methods for encouraging or discouraging legislative interventions. The fellow will learn to analyze legislative text, research policy context, summarize key provisions, and synthesize feedback from internal stakeholders. Working within an integrated care system also provides exposure to health insurance and care delivery settings, with opportunities to network with professionals in compliance, legal, government relations, and other departments based on the fellow’s interests. This is a temporary, part-time position of approximately 10 hours per week, with flexible scheduling to accommodate academic or professional commitments. The position has a hybrid work arrangement based in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Requirements

Demonstrated interest in public policy, government relations, health care, compliance, or a related field.
Ability to critically evaluate complex information, including legislative text, regulations, and policy documents.
Strong research skills, including the ability to synthesize information from multiple sources.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize complex topics for diverse audiences.
Strong time-management skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

Experience in health care, health insurance, or public policy.
Experience using legislative tracking tools, databases, or online research platforms.
Previous experience drafting reports, summaries, or presentations for professional or academic purposes.
Graduate-level coursework.
