About The Position

The City of Fort Worth Police Trainee Program is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. This program offers a structured path to becoming a police officer, with competitive compensation during training and upon graduation. Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen at the time of application.
  • Must be able to read and write the English Language.
  • Must be 20 years of age and not be 51 years of age by the last date of their entry-level test.
  • Must possess a valid and current driver’s license and possess an acceptable driving record.
  • High school diploma; (or GED Certificate, plus 12 semester hours, with a “C” average, from an accredited college or university).

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) points for military veteran candidates with Honorable Discharge per DD-214.
  • Five (5) points for Bachelor’s degree (or higher).
  • Two (2) points for graduates of the Fort Worth Police Department’s Cadet Program.

Responsibilities

  • Successfully pass a written or electronic exam.
  • Successfully pass physical assessment tests.
  • Successfully pass a polygraph examination.
  • Successfully pass an interview board.
  • Successfully pass a medical examination.
  • Successfully pass a psychological examination.
  • Successfully pass an extensive background check.
