About The Position

The City of Chandler Police Department is seeking qualified individuals for the role of Police Records Representative. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits. The Police Records Division operates internally Sunday through Saturday from 0600 to 0100 and is open to the public Monday through Friday from 0700 to 1700 (excluding holidays). The position requires working various schedules, including days, swings, and some weekends and holidays. A six-month probationary period is required. After probation, schedules are determined twice annually for six-month durations. The City of Chandler Police Department serves approximately 290,000 residents with 348 sworn officers and 192 civilians, organized into three main divisions, one bureau, and multiple sections/units. The department is dedicated to community policing and aims to maintain a safe, vibrant community through meaningful engagement and continuous organizational improvement, striving to be a world-class leader in law enforcement.

Requirements

  • Must possess a High School or GED equivalency.
  • Must have 1-year of previous experience working in a fast-paced environment where customer service, data entry, and administrative work were required; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
  • Must successfully obtain and pass the Department of Public Safety Level A Terminal Operator Certification upon being hired.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers entering the lobby and respond to inquiries
  • Use Law Enforcement programs and systems to enter data and update information
  • Fulfill public record requests
  • Train to be able to perform the full scope of duties of a Police Records Representative
  • Conduct and attend Vehicle Impound Hearings
