About The Position

Pasadena City College’s Police and Safety Services seeks a lateral Police Officer to help create a safe and enjoyable campus atmosphere. Department members work collaboratively with students, faculty, support staff, surrounding businesses, and residents to support a campus that promotes higher learning. This is an evergreen posting that remains open until filled; applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and reviewed as opportunities become available. The position has a rotating schedule and a stated salary range of $6,796.90 to $7,493.58, depending on experience (DOE). Additional pay is available for intermediate and advanced certificates. The posting also lists a $10,000 sign-on bonus, paid in installments after one month of work, six months of work, and successful completion of the one-year probationary period. Retirement is through CalPERS (Classic or PEPRA).

Requirements

• Completion of a California POST-certified Basic Police Academy.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass a background investigation, psychological examination, and medical examination.
• Valid California driver's license.
• Successful applicants must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of a background check, including Live Scan and tuberculosis assessment or screening.
• Must be available to interview at Pasadena City College at no cost to the District.
