About The Position
The City of Lufkin, Texas is administering a Civil Service Police Entrance Examination. The results of this examination will establish an eligibility list that remains in effect for twelve months or until exhausted. This is an essential service position requiring services during emergency situations. Applicants must present a valid driver's license at the time of the test. Military veterans with an honorable discharge may receive five additional points on their passing score.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age (no upper age limit).
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Present a valid driver's license at the time of the test.
- For military veterans seeking bonus points: provide proof of honorable discharge from active-duty service of 180 days or more, including a DD214 stating 'honorable discharge', by September 1, 2026.
- All applicants scoring 70 or above will be tested for physical agility.
- Appropriate clothing for physical agility testing (shorts, tennis shoes, t-shirt, etc.).
- Pass the physical fitness standards exam, which includes a 2000 Meter Row on a Concept 2 Row Machine. Time is based on age and weight using the DPS fitness standard calculator.
