An employee in this class is responsible for attending BLET classes on a daily basis; listening to instruction, participating in physical fitness training, participating in role play scenarios and taking tests. The employee must have a positive attitude and desire to learn through hard work and good study habits. The work is performed under the observation and review of the Support Services Division and the supervisor of the Training Unit. This employee is subject to the usual hazards of law enforcement training. This classification is considered nonexempt in compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). This position is being advertised to fill upcoming Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) classes scheduled to begin in January 2027 and July 2027. Selected candidates will be required to attend the BLET program at Alamance Community College (ACC) and comply with the college’s established schedule, which may include afternoon and evening classes, as well as occasional weekends. Hiring Timeline: January 2027 BLET Class: Hiring is expected to take place in November–December 2026, with the BLET program beginning in January 2027. July 2027 BLET Class: Hiring is expected to take place in May–June 2027, with the BLET program beginning in July 2027.
