About The Position

Attend Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood's Poker Dealer School for free, and start an exciting, new career in Poker! The goal of the school is to prepare team members for available career opportunities within the Poker department at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood. Class begins Monday, June 1st Attendees will be hired as a Poker Brush (Guest Service Representative) and will be paid for training time with the school. Once the school is completed, an audition will be administered. If the audition is passed, you will be offered an On Call Dual Rate Poker Brush/Poker Dealer position. This dual rate position will allow you to apprentice for up to 6 months, working both roles as a Poker Brush and Poker Dealer.

Requirements

  • Must be able to attend the Poker Dealer School starting June 1st.
  • Must be hired as a Poker Brush (Guest Service Representative) and be paid for training time.
  • Must pass an audition after completing the school.
  • Must be able to work an On Call Dual Rate Poker Brush/Poker Dealer position for up to 6 months.
  • Must adhere to Gaming Commission Regulations and Seminole Tribe of Florida departmental policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to maintain waiting lists using the Bravo system.
  • Must be able to provide buy-ins to players.
  • Must be able to perform credits and fills with Dealers.
  • Must be able to transport cash and chips to and from the Poker Cage.
  • Must be able to wash and reset decks.
  • Must maintain constant contact with Floorperson.
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service.
  • Must demonstrate actions and behaviors that reinforce the Company’s Mission and Values.
  • Must ensure prompt and discreet notification to managers and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts or internal ethics violations.
  • Must promote positive guest and team member relations at all times.
  • Must maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment.
  • Must deal cards to players and shuffle as appropriate according to established rules and regulations.
  • Must announce winning hand to players.
  • Must ensure correct "rake" is taken from the winning pot.
  • Must verify beginning and ending chip and money balances and confirm supporting documentation.
  • Must receive fills and distribute credits.
  • Must ensure that wagers are placed before cards are dealt.
  • Must monitor game and notify supervisor of any disputes, problems or concerns.
  • Must conduct themselves in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations, and Seminole Tribe of Florida/departmental policies and procedures.
  • Must be responsible for the operation and conduct of the assigned game in accordance with Gaming Procedure, internal controls and the rules and procedures of poker.

Responsibilities

  • Performing the functions of a Poker Brush or Dealer on an assigned shift.
  • Responsible for dealing an assigned game in accordance with established policy and procedures.
  • Conducts the assigned game with respect to Seminole Gaming’s Compliance and Regulations and procedures.
  • Responsible for customer satisfaction and enjoyment.
  • Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations and Seminole Tribe of Florida departmental policies and procedures.
  • Meet and greet guests.
  • Answer telephone in Poker area and questions from potential players.
  • Maintain waiting lists for all Poker games using the Bravo system.
  • Open and maintain games.
  • Page players when seats are available and escort players to tables as needed.
  • Provide buy-ins to players as needed.
  • Perform credits and fills with Dealers.
  • Transport cash and chips to and from Poker Cage as needed.
  • Wash and reset decks as assigned.
  • Maintain constant contact with Floorperson to ensure proper servicing of guests.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate managers of concerns and observations.
  • Demonstrate actions and behaviors that reinforce the Company’s Mission and Values of Communication, Integrity, Fun, Respect, Accountability, Passion and Dedication.
  • Ensure prompt and discreet notification to managers and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts or internal ethics violations.
