About The Position

The Point of Use Specialist supports procedural case cart picking and inventory management in the Operating Room (OR). The role works closely with clinicians, including RN Circulators, Scrub Techs, and Physicians, to ensure the supplies needed for procedures are available. The position focuses on accurate documentation, inventory optimization, and operational efficiency in support of patient care. The role is based at One Ford Place, Henry Ford Health’s corporate headquarters in Detroit’s New Center, and supports the health system’s supply chain operations.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
At least three years of prior work experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to execute plans, achieve results, and improve operations.
Strong workflow management and time management skills.
Computer proficiency, including PeopleSoft, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and web-based software programs.

Nice To Haves

College degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Three to five years of experience in an Operating Room or procedural environment, either clinical or Supply Chain oriented.

Responsibilities

Conduct case cart picking for procedural supplies in OR inventory locations.
Ensure products listed on preference cards are available to clinicians during procedures.
Perform post-procedure audits and reconciliation to support accurate documentation and inventory management.
Assist with inventory optimization to minimize stockouts and overstock.
Ensure accurate documentation in the Epic Medical Record during procedures.
Improve picking and documentation processes to enhance overall OR efficiency.
