The Point of Contact (POC) provides support for the office and physicians independently and with minimal supervision. The POC also provides other diverse duties as requested or required under the general and direct supervision of the site manager. The goal is to create a positive and professional first impression of the practice and to show patients a "we care" attitude. This role involves accurately and efficiently processing incoming messages, documenting them in the EMR, contacting patients at the physician's direction, scanning and indexing information, reviewing and entering patient demographics and clinical information, assessing patient questions and conditions, explaining procedures, scheduling appointments, communicating with physicians, e-scribing medications, ordering tests, completing FMLA paperwork, and assisting with appeals.
