About The Position
An introduction to the political dynamics of contemporary sub-Saharan Africa. This class will examine the impacts of historical patterns of development; the post-colonial state and its role in socioeconomic change, social actors, movements, and divisions, economic and social crises; and the contemporary democratic trend. There will be an emphasis on the diversity existing within and among African nations in order to challenge some of the common media-based stereotypes of the continent.
Requirements
- MA academic degree
- MA in Political Science, International Development or related discipline
- Africa politics background or previous teaching in African politics preferred
