About The Position

The Concrete Powder Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating and transporting dry bulk cement, fly ash, lime, or other powdered concrete materials to construction sites, batch plants, and customer locations. This position requires adherence to all DOT regulations, company safety policies, and proper loading/unloading procedures. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and experienced operating pneumatic bulk tankers or similar heavy equipment.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL required.
  • Current DOT medical card required.
  • Tanker endorsement required.
  • Clean driving record and ability to meet company insurance requirements.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
  • Ability to operate pneumatic unloading systems safely and efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to climb ladders, walk on uneven surfaces, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to connect and disconnect hoses and operate valves and controls.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to sit and drive for extended periods of time.
  • Excellent vision and depth perception; good hearing.
  • Read and understand printed materials and/or means to compensate for such.
  • Comprehend and consistently perform the safety functions of the essential functions.
  • Ability to follow maps and written instructions to locate customer premises.
  • Comprehend reasonable instructions and plan steps to carry out essential functions with minimal supervision.
  • Practice a ‘can-do’ attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience operating pneumatic dry bulk tankers or similar heavy equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a concrete powder tanker truck to transport dry bulk materials to designated locations.
  • Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT requirements and company policies.
  • Load and unload powdered materials using pneumatic systems and air compressors.
  • Monitor product levels, air pressure, hoses, valves, and unloading equipment during deliveries.
  • Ensure accurate completion of delivery tickets, logbooks, inspection reports, and other required documentation.
  • Maintain communication with dispatch, batch plants, customers, and supervisors regarding delivery schedules and jobsite conditions.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA standards, and DOT regulations.
  • Secure all equipment, hoses, and valves before transport.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the truck, tanker, and equipment.
  • Report mechanical issues, safety concerns, accidents, or delays immediately.
  • Assist with general yard or plant duties as needed.
  • Operate equipment in varying weather, road, and jobsite conditions.
