About The Position

The Tanker Driver is responsible for the proper routine maintenance of their equipment, including pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations. Drivers are also required to maintain the cleanliness of their equipment, both inside and out, and attend monthly safety meetings. Prompt reporting of any accidents, incidents, or injuries to a supervisor is essential. The role requires the ability to follow dispatch instructions.

Requirements

  • Verifiable Class A CDL for 2 years with tractor/trailer experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work in areas with potential for high noise levels.
  • Ability to work in areas with heights up to 9 feet.
  • Ability to follow dispatches and have a general sense of cardinal directions.
  • Acceptable driving record that meets Burnco’s minimum qualifications.
  • Capability to carry out obligations as a driver efficiently and correctly.
  • Focused, confident, and observant.
  • Sufficient knowledge of traffic laws.
  • Ability to climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, squat, tolerate prolonged sitting, balance, bend from trunk, operate mobile equipment, push and pull objects.
  • Demonstrate neck range of motion within normal limits (flexion and extension 60°, lateral flexion 40° and rotation 70°).
  • Lift objects of various dimensions and weights.
  • Ability to operate hand controls with both hands.
  • Ability to operate foot pedals with both feet.
  • Ability to perform sustained overhead reaching.
  • Ability to use vibration tools.
  • Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environment temperatures and weather.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a tanker trailer or bulk tanker is preferable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform proper routine maintenance with pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment meets DOT and FMCSA regulations.
  • Wash equipment (tractor and trailer) at least once a week.
  • Maintain a clean working environment inside the equipment.
  • Attend monthly safety meetings.
  • Report any accidents, incidents, or injuries immediately or within a reasonable time to a supervisor.
  • Follow dispatch instructions.
