About The Position

The PM Houseperson supports hotel cleanliness by maintaining guest floor corridors, foyers, stairwells, and public vending areas, and by assisting Room Attendants to uphold cleanliness standards. The role also supports guest needs and helps maintain a safe environment. Work takes place in a typical guest room and hotel environment that is fast-paced and physical.

Requirements

• Ability to read and understand directions on cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to use chemicals and equipment safely and efficiently.
• No education or experience required.
• Frequently lift, bend, twist, push/pull, stand, and walk; sitting is occasional.

Responsibilities

• Empty Room Attendant carts of soiled linen and trash.
• Vacuum, sweep, and/or mop hallways, stairwells, vending areas, and foyers.
• Clean and remove spots from corridor walls and doors.
• Polish and clean mirrors, room numbers on guest room doors, and elevator doors.
• Obtain amenities and supplies for Room Attendants.
• Flip mattresses and move furniture as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Assist Room Attendants with removing trash and linen from guest rooms during high-occupancy turnover.
• Assist Shampooers with relocating furniture.
• Respond to guest questions.
• Provide guest assistance, directions, and information as requested.
• Report suspicious persons or activities, hazardous conditions, and similar concerns to the Safety/Security Department.
• Provide instruction and/or guidance for guest and employee safety during fires or other emergencies.
