About The Position

Austin Country Club, founded in 1899 and renowned for its tradition of excellence, is seeking a full-time PM Grill Cook in Austin, TX. This role involves working full-time evening shifts, typically ranging from 7 to 8 hours, with flexibility required for weekdays, weekends, and holidays to support year-round operations. The PM Grill Cook will be responsible for preparing and executing orders promptly and efficiently, maintaining high standards for all dishes. Daily tasks include setting up and breaking down the station, ensuring all equipment, linens, and surfaces are clean and in top working order. The position also requires assisting with event functions, communicating with management to resolve issues, fostering a positive team atmosphere, and maintaining vigilance regarding cleanliness, safety, and code compliance. Additionally, the role involves building knowledge in food and beverage, attending meetings or trainings, and completing assigned tasks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of grill station experience with steak cooking
  • Experience working multiple stations in the kitchen
  • Experience temping meat
  • Understanding of grilling fundamentals
  • Ability to perform all basic and intermediate cooking tasks
  • Organized and calm demeanor
  • Strong communication skills with members and the team
  • Genuine passion for delivering excellent food and service
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to move and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods
  • Flexible schedule with availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute orders promptly and efficiently, ensuring each dish meets high standards.
  • Set up and break down the grill station.
  • Keep all equipment, linens, and surfaces clean and in top working order.
  • Assist with event functions as needed.
  • Communicate closely with the manager to resolve any issues.
  • Foster a positive, harmonious atmosphere among teammates.
  • Stay vigilant about cleanliness, safety, and code compliance.
  • Build knowledge and interest in food and beverage.
  • Attend scheduled meetings or trainings.
  • Complete any additional tasks assigned by management.
