About The Position

J.F. Sobieski Mechanical Contractors, Inc. is seeking a full-time Commercial Construction Plumbing Superintendent. This role involves overseeing the technical performance of mechanics, ensuring quality and safety, managing material delivery, evaluating work quality, assisting with installation challenges, and communicating project status to management. The superintendent is responsible for project profitability and meeting deadlines.

Requirements

10+ years of commercial construction experience
Experience managing tradesmen
Experience managing mechanics subcontractors
Experience communicating with GC's, PM's and GM
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
Valid driver's license and good driving record
Leadership ability
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Diplomatic
Effective problem-solving skills
Passionate about quality
Enjoy mentoring others

Responsibilities

Serve as the liaison between mechanics, builders, and managers.
Take charge of the technical performance of the mechanics.
Ensure mechanics have the guidance needed to succeed.
Confirm that proper procedures are being followed by all staff.
Ensure that materials are at the job site prior to scheduling labor.
Evaluate the quality of work at each phase of construction.
Assist with complex project installation challenges.
Effectively communicate challenges or delays to the division manager/builders.
Be responsible for the project's profitability and meeting of deadlines for completion.
