About The Position

Plumbing Solutions, LLC is seeking a Plumbing Standards and Training Lead to define installation standards, train field crews, and ensure adherence to these standards. This hands-on, field-driven role requires a plumber with deep technical knowledge, strong teaching abilities, and the authority to enforce quality. The goal is to institutionalize plumbing knowledge within the company, creating a documented library of standards owned by the company, not individuals. This position is crucial for maintaining quality and consistency across all job sites and branches.

Requirements

  • 8 to 15 plus years of plumbing experience, with new construction required.
  • Deep knowledge of installation methods, extending beyond code requirements.
  • Proven ability to enforce standards in the field and hold crews accountable.
  • A track record of building or documenting standards, SOPs, or training that was actually deployed, not just proposed.
  • Strong credibility with field teams, earned through practical experience.
  • Ability to confront issues directly and in real time.
  • Comfort documenting knowledge in writing for a training library.

Nice To Haves

  • Plumbing License preferred, or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience training or coaching field crews hands-on.

Responsibilities

  • Build and document installation methods across slab, sewer, rough-in, trim, service, and warranty.
  • Write clear, field-usable standards that installers can follow.
  • Ensure standards meet IPC, IBC, and company requirements.
  • Transfer plumbing knowledge from individual expertise into a company-wide standard.
  • Deliver hands-on technical training to installers and crews.
  • Demonstrate correct methods and verify crew proficiency.
  • Run training programs for existing staff to improve their skills.
  • Inspect field work against established standards.
  • Stop work and require corrections when standards are not met.
  • Ensure incorrect work is rectified before cover-up.
  • Hold crews and Quality Inspectors accountable in real time.
  • Collaborate with the Training Systems Manager to integrate standards into training systems.
  • Maintain alignment between training content and current field standards and execution.
  • Serve as the technical expert for training initiatives.
