Requirements

  • 5+ years of operations management experience.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing service teams.
  • Strong understanding of residential plumbing service, installation, and operational best practices.
  • Experience managing departmental KPIs, budgets, profitability, and operational performance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to motivate teams while fostering a positive, accountable culture.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operations of the residential plumbing department, ensuring exceptional customer service, operational efficiency, and profitability.
  • Recruit, hire, coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Service Plumbers, Installers, Apprentices, and Supervisors.
  • Drive departmental performance by monitoring and improving key performance indicators (KPIs), including revenue, gross profit, average ticket, conversion rates, maintenance memberships, callbacks, customer satisfaction, and technician productivity.
  • Conduct regular ride-alongs, one-on-one coaching sessions, and performance reviews to develop technician skills and accountability.
  • Partner with dispatch, customer service, warehouse, and sales teams to maximize scheduling efficiency and customer experience.
  • Review service calls, estimates, invoices, and job quality to ensure company standards are consistently met.
  • Resolve escalated customer concerns promptly while maintaining a positive customer experience.
  • Develop and implement training programs focused on technical excellence, customer service, leadership, and sales opportunities.
  • Manage department budgets, labor costs, inventory, fleet utilization, and overall operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, licensing requirements, and local plumbing codes.
  • Identify process improvements that increase efficiency, profitability, and employee engagement.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and professional development.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to achieve strategic growth initiatives and departmental goals.
