About The Position

Perform Plumber job assignments according to MTech Mechanical safety standards and guidelines, and within budgetary constraints. This position requires a valid Journeyman or Master Plumbing License. The role involves installing sanitary systems, water systems, fuel systems, fixtures, and equipment. The Plumbing Journeyman will also be responsible for directing field crew members, submitting daily job progress reports, ordering materials, maintaining jobsite organization and safety, and ensuring the safe operation of company equipment. Additionally, they will be responsible for accurate accounting of labor hours and materials, instructing and training apprentices, obtaining and maintaining necessary licensing, and staying knowledgeable of local/national codes and industry standards. The position also requires supporting quality efforts, adhering to safety and employee policies, promoting MTech business values, and ensuring proper use of company assets. Regular and predictable attendance is expected, along with other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 4 year apprenticeship certificate or 4 years of field experience
  • Journeyman or Master Plumbing License Required
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of plumbing, construction practice and safety procedures
  • Working knowledge of all relevant national and local codes and company and industry standards.
  • Must possess and maintain licenses that are required in the jurisdictions that you are working.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work required

Responsibilities

  • Meet all requirements of 4 year Apprentice.
  • Knowledge of all tools, equipment and skills necessary for the complete installation of projects common to the plumbing industry.
  • Possession of the tools as required by the company.
  • Direct the activities of field crew member(s) in accordance with job schedules and priorities as coordinated with project manager/customer/general contractor and field foreman as applicable.
  • Submit daily job progress reports to supervisors as required.
  • Responsible for ordering stock or fabricated materials as far in advance as possible either personally or through site foreman to ensure completion of assigned tasks.
  • Responsible for physical jobsite organization and housekeeping to ensure a safe professional work area.
  • Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of company equipment as well as monitoring the use and timely return of rented equipment.
  • Install sanitary systems, water systems, fuel systems, fixtures and equipment.
  • Responsible for the accurate accounting of labor hours to the accounting department, material sheets and change orders, etc.
  • Responsible for instruction and on the job training of apprentices/crew members which includes emphasis on safety.
  • Responsible for obtaining and maintaining necessary licensing/certification for performing work in areas where such is required.
  • Responsible for maintaining knowledge of local/national codes and industry standards. Ensure that all necessary inspections are made through all phases of work.
  • Support the total quality effort. Identify and respond to the needs of internal and external customers 100% of the time.
