The State of Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS) is hiring for a Plumbing and Heating Instructor to join the professional education team at Platt Technical High School in Milford, CT. This role involves teaching plumbing and heating technologies, developing lesson plans, fostering student learning and engagement, providing social-emotional support, tutoring, academic counseling, and maintaining classroom records. Instructors will collaborate with colleagues, meet with business and industry partners to stay current with trade practices and technology, and provide feedback on curriculum. The position requires educating students on safety procedures aligned with current NFPA and Plumbing and Heating-Related ICC codes adopted in Connecticut. Instructors will also work on various sites, including off-campus production sites like construction sites (residential, commercial, and industrial) and on-campus production sites, to connect students with employment and work-based learning opportunities. This role may involve lifting light to medium weights and exposure to risks from typical construction site environments. Possible career pathways include Department Head, Consulting, or Administration.
