About The Position

We’re seeking an experienced Plumbing Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive bids for commercial and industrial plumbing and process piping projects. The role involves developing estimates, bids, and budgets; reviewing project drawings and specifications; assessing costs and risks; coordinating with project partners; and maintaining bid records and cost data. Candidates must have direct commercial or industrial plumbing estimating experience. Residential-only estimators and general construction estimators without relevant plumbing experience will not qualify.

Requirements

At least 5 years of commercial or industrial plumbing estimating experience.
Direct experience estimating plumbing systems and/or process piping installations.
Background with a plumbing, mechanical, or MEP contracting company.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, plumbing layouts, and construction specifications.
Strong knowledge of construction labor costs, material pricing, and estimating methods.
Proficiency with estimating software, digital takeoff tools, and Microsoft Office.
Direct commercial or industrial plumbing estimating experience; residential-only estimators and general construction estimators without relevant plumbing experience will not qualify.

Responsibilities

Prepare estimates, bids, and budgets for labor, materials, equipment, and installation costs.
Review blueprints, MEP drawings, and specifications to perform accurate quantity takeoffs.
Identify scope gaps, cost risks, and potential change orders before bid submission.
Obtain and evaluate supplier, vendor, and subcontractor quotes to develop competitive pricing.
Coordinate with general contractors, engineers, and trade partners to clarify project requirements.
Update estimates for change orders and maintain organized bid records and historical cost data.
