It is certified as a “Great Place to Work.” A+S is seeking an experienced Plumbing Designer to join its Chicago team. The role designs plumbing systems for small to medium commercial projects, coordinates project documentation, and provides support during bidding and construction. Design production uses AutoCAD and Revit, depending on the architect’s preference.

Requirements

4–5 years of plumbing design experience.
Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
CPD certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform full design of plumbing systems—including sanitary, water, gas, storm, medical gas, and fire protection systems—and select equipment for small to medium commercial projects.
Analyze system options and evaluate existing systems where appropriate.
Coordinate all aspects of project document completion within A+S and externally with clients.
Complete full designs in accordance with code using AutoCAD and Revit, depending on the architect’s preference.
Write specifications.
Provide bid and construction phase services, including reviewing bids, answering RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, participating in project walkthroughs, and providing field observation reports.
