About The Position
PAE is seeking a motivated and inquisitive Plumbing Design Engineering Intern to join our team for a 10 to 12 week paid program. This internship offers hands-on experience in sustainable engineering design, allowing interns to learn about the building design industry from a traditional viewpoint and the PAE and LUMA way. Interns will work directly as part of engineering and design teams on projects ranging from small retrofits to high-profile Living Buildings, gaining an understanding of the entire design process, including planning, execution, and problem-solving.
Requirements
- 3rd year undergraduate student preferred
- Civil, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering major
- Desire to work in the Building Design industry
- Passionate about sustainable design solutions
- Effective Communicator
Responsibilities
- Design layout of plumbing systems
- Onsite non-potable reuse and nutrient recovery systems
- Water data (WUI) analysis
- Electrification of domestic hot water systems
- CAD and Revit
- Energy modeling
- Design calculations
- Construction administration and site visits
- General project timeline/overview
- Specifications
- Site Visits/Site Observation Reports
- Cost estimate review/preparation
- M/E coordination schedule
