About The Position

Gateway Mechanical has an exciting opportunity for 2nd/3rd year Plumbing Apprentices in Calgary, AB! Attending to 40,000+ service calls per year, Gateway is the largest HVAC & Refrigeration service provider in Western Canada. Our model is comprised of local branch teams with fully qualified personnel representing HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing/gas fitting, sheet metal, and electrical trades. These teams are supported by centers of excellence including professional engineers and project managers which ensures Gateway’s full technical capability is available for every project and service call. The Plumbing Apprentice will perform quality maintenance services for our valued clients on commercial and industrial sites while showcasing exceptional customer service skills.

Requirements

• 2nd or 3rd year Plumbing Apprentice Documentation
• Valid class 5 driver’s license and current driver’s abstract

Nice To Haves

• Previous service experience is an asset
• Read and interpret blueprints, basic spec, and shop drawing interpretation considered an asset
• Valid safety certifications such as First Aid, Fall Protection, Cross Connection Control, WHMIS, TDG, CSTS, PSTS, AWP, and H2S Alive considered an asset

Responsibilities

• Work within commercial and industrial environments
• Complete the required daily equipment inspections, safety reports, and Field Level Hazard Assessments
• Lift up to 50 lbs
• Perform work using hand and power tools in a safe manner
• Read and interpret blueprints, basic spec, and shop drawing interpretation considered an asset
• Maintain clean and operable equipment, vehicle, and work areas at all time
• Maintenance and service of plumbing equipment such as pumps, boilers, and backflows
• Other required duties may be assigned that fall within the parameters of the primary responsibility of the position.
