Plumbing Apprentice 3rd & 4th Year Sponsorships (Up to $5k Sign-on Bonus)
About The Position
Energy Services is hiring Plumbing Apprentices who have completed at least 24 months in an approved State of Illinois sponsored plumbing apprenticeship program and want to continue developing their experience. The company provides hands-on training, mentorship from Licensed Plumbers, and opportunities to gain field experience while working toward an Illinois Plumbing License. Sponsorships are available for 3rd- and 4th-year apprentices, and qualified apprentices may receive up to a $5,000 sign-on bonus. The role involves working alongside Licensed Plumbers on residential service calls and installation projects. Apprentices assist with troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining residential plumbing systems and equipment. They learn to evaluate systems and recommend solutions, provide professional customer-focused service, maintain tools and company vehicles, follow safety standards and Illinois plumbing codes, and communicate with dispatch, management, and team members. Ongoing training and professional development are provided. The position is based in Naperville, Illinois, serving residential customers. The posted pay range is $20.00–$30.00 per hour. The sign-on bonus is paid in installments and depends on remaining actively employed and in good standing through each applicable milestone.
Requirements
- At least 24 months of documented experience through an approved State of Illinois plumbing apprenticeship; the card does not need to be active.
- Strong desire to continue developing plumbing knowledge and skills.
- Understanding of plumbing systems, tools, and materials.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Comfort using tablets and mobile dispatch technology.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment as required.
- Ability to work in residential environments, including confined spaces.
- Ability to successfully complete pre-employment check requirements.

Responsibilities
- Work alongside Licensed Plumbers on residential service calls and installation projects.
- Assist with troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing residential plumbing systems.
- Install, repair, and maintain water heaters, fixtures, drains, piping, sump pumps, sewer lines, and other residential plumbing equipment.
- Gain hands-on experience in residential service and/or installation environments.
- Learn to evaluate plumbing systems and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Deliver professional, customer-focused service to homeowners.
- Maintain clean, organized tools, equipment, and company vehicles.
- Follow company safety standards and Illinois plumbing code requirements.
