About The Position

Edwards Electrical & Mechanical, Inc. is seeking a motivated Plumbing Apprentice to join our team. This role involves assisting journeyman plumbers with the installation of commercial plumbing systems, including piping, fixtures, and equipment. The apprentice will learn to measure, cut, and assemble piping, support the installation of water supply, drainage, and venting systems, and develop the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plumbing layouts. Maintaining a safe and efficient work environment, adhering to safety procedures, and assisting with material management are key aspects of this position. The role also includes participating in hands-on training and skill development to build a long-term career in the plumbing trade.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a plumbing apprenticeship program or trade school (required)
  • Interest in building a long-term career in the plumbing trade
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented construction environment
  • Strong willingness to learn and follow directions from experienced plumbers and supervisors
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods
  • Ability to work in active construction environments and varying weather conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and elevated surfaces

Nice To Haves

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist journeyman plumbers with the installation of commercial plumbing systems, including piping, fixtures, and equipment
  • Measure, cut, and assemble piping materials according to project specifications
  • Support the installation of water supply, drainage, and venting systems
  • Learn to read and interpret construction drawings and plumbing layouts
  • Maintain tools, materials, and work areas to ensure safe and efficient job sites
  • Follow company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines at all times
  • Assist with loading, transporting, and organizing materials on job sites
  • Participate in hands-on training and skill development in the field
