Plumbing Apprentice
About The Position
Western Heating + Air + Plumbing is seeking a dedicated Plumbing Apprentice to begin a long-term career in plumbing. The role provides hands-on experience in residential plumbing maintenance while working alongside licensed and experienced plumbers. The apprentice will develop foundational skills through work with water heaters, drains, fixtures, and piping, and receive coaching in diagnostics, customer service, and job-site professionalism. The position offers progressive skill development and a growth path toward becoming a full-service plumber and advancing to technician roles.
Responsibilities
- Assist with water heater maintenance, including flushing and preventative service.
- Perform whole-home plumbing inspections under supervision.
- Support drain-cleaning services, including basic clearing and preventative maintenance.
- Ride along with experienced service technicians to observe and assist with plumbing repairs and replacements, troubleshooting, customer communication, and service best practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Properly handle tools, equipment, and materials.
- Accurately document work performed and observations.
- Follow company safety policies and plumbing codes.
- Represent the company professionally in customers’ homes.
