Plumbing Apprentice
About The Position
Western Heating + Air + Plumbing is seeking a dedicated Plumbing Apprentice to begin a long-term career in plumbing. The role provides hands-on experience in residential plumbing maintenance while learning directly from experienced technicians. The apprentice will focus on foundational maintenance services and ride along with senior plumbers to develop the skills needed to become a full-service plumber. Training includes hands-on, on-the-job instruction with licensed plumbers; progressive skill development; exposure to residential water heaters, drains, fixtures, and piping; and coaching in customer service, diagnostics, and job-site professionalism. Responsibilities
- Assist with water heater maintenance, including flushing and preventative service.
- Perform whole-home plumbing inspections under supervision.
- Support drain cleaning services, including basic clearing and preventative maintenance.
- Ride along with experienced service technicians to observe and assist with plumbing repairs and replacements, troubleshooting plumbing systems, and customer communication and service best practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Properly handle tools, equipment, and materials.
- Accurately document work performed and observations.
- Follow company safety policies and plumbing codes.
- Represent the company professionally in customers’ homes.
