About The Position

Since 1996, RQC, LLC has been a leading player in the commercial and governmental Design-Build economy, with a national presence and projects spanning coast to coast. We specialize in fast-track, new commercial construction with a primary focus on the Department of Defense market. Now, we are looking to expand our team and bring on talented Plumbing Apprentices for an exciting opportunity at the Naval Submarine Kings Bay Base in Georgia. As a Plumbing Apprentice, you'll gain hands-on experience while learning the plumbing trade from journeyman plumbers. This is a structured 4-year training program that combines 576 hours of related instruction with 8,000 hours of on-the-job training to set you on the path to becoming a skilled journeyman plumber. This program is ideal for anyone eager to build a long-term career in the plumbing field. All work is performed on the military base, and apprentices will be paid at the Davis-Bacon prevailing wage specific to the Kings Bay, GA military base.

Requirements

A high school diploma or G.E.D. is required.
All candidates considered for hire must provide evidence of identity and U.S. work authorization at the time of hire.
Additionally, all candidates must successfully pass a drug screening and commercial criminal background check, including a stricter Department of Defense background check, for access to job site at military base (if applicable for position being hired for).

Nice To Haves

Courses in construction management or trade school are preferred but not necessary.
Previous work in the construction industry or with plumbing systems is a plus.
Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, OSHA-30, and EM-385 are beneficial, with training available.

Responsibilities

Assist journeyman plumbers with the layout, assembly, and installation of plumbing systems on active construction sites.
Ensure work complies with all relevant codes and safety regulations.
Gain exposure to technical mechanical principles in real-world applications.
Follow all required safety practices while contributing to the success of the project.
