About The Position

This role involves assisting Journeyman Plumbers with diagnosing and troubleshooting various plumbing system issues, including water, drain, sewer, gas, and fixture-related problems. The apprentice will support repairs, maintenance, and replacement of plumbing systems, fixtures, water heaters, pumps, and related equipment. Responsibilities also include performing drain cleaning, supporting preventative maintenance inspections, and learning proper plumbing installation, repair, and troubleshooting techniques through hands-on field training. The role requires loading, unloading, organizing, and maintaining tools and equipment, as well as maintaining a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company policies and OSHA standards. Accurate completion of service documentation, work orders, and daily reports is necessary, along with professional communication with customers, coworkers, and supervisors. All work must adhere to local plumbing codes and company quality standards. The apprentice will participate in training to develop technical knowledge and advance toward Journeyman licensure, with the ability to work independently when needed.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in or willing to enroll in a registered plumbing apprenticeship program.
  • Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn plumbing systems and service techniques.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently when appropriate and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crawl, and climb for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in commercial and industrial environments, including mechanical rooms, crawl spaces, rooftops, and confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools under supervision.
  • Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and elevated surfaces.
  • Ability to respond to service calls in various weather conditions and work environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous plumbing, mechanical, construction, or trade experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Journeyman Plumbers with diagnosing and troubleshooting plumbing system issues, including water, drain, sewer, gas, and fixture-related problems.

  • Complete service documentation, work orders, and daily reports accurately under the guidance of a Journeyman Plumber.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local plumbing codes and company quality standards.
  • Participate in apprenticeship training and continuing education to develop technical knowledge and advance toward Journeyman licensure.
  • Possess the ability to work solo as needed.
