About The Position
This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and testing plumbing systems, including backflow prevention devices. The role involves assembling, installing, and repairing pumps, pipes, fittings, and fixtures. Additionally, the plumber will cut, thread, and weld pipes, and assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes made from various metals and materials. The position also requires estimating costs, time, and materials for plumbing projects and participating in the maintenance and operations of a plumbing shop, including servicing tools and equipment and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
Requirements
- Any combination of progressively responsible training and experience which demonstrates achievement of journey-level skills equivalent to that acquired through completion of a standard plumber’s apprenticeship program.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot and test plumbing systems, including backflow prevention devices.
- Assemble, install and repair pumps, pipes, fittings, and fixtures.
- Cut, thread and weld pipes.
- Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings and pipes composed of a variety of metals and materials.
- Estimate cost, time and materials for plumbing projects.
- Participate in the maintenance and operations of a plumbing shop including maintaining and servicing tools and equipment used in the performance of duties and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
