About The Position

This is an emergency hire position for a Plumber within Facilities Management and Development. The role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and testing plumbing systems, including backflow prevention devices. Responsibilities include assembling, installing, and repairing pumps, pipes, fittings, and fixtures, as well as cutting, threading, and welding pipes. The plumber will also assemble and install valves and pipe fittings made of various metals and materials. Additionally, the position requires estimating costs, time, and materials for plumbing projects and participating in the maintenance and operations of a plumbing shop, including servicing tools and equipment and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Requirements

Any combination of progressively responsible training and experience which demonstrates achievement of journey-level skills equivalent to that acquired through completion of a standard plumber’s apprenticeship program.

Responsibilities

Maintain, troubleshoot and test plumbing systems, including backflow prevention devices.
Assemble, install and repair pumps, pipes, fittings, and fixtures.
Cut, thread and weld pipes.
Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings and pipes composed of a variety of metals and materials.
Estimate cost, time and materials for plumbing projects.
Participate in the maintenance and operations of a plumbing shop including maintaining and servicing tools and equipment used in the performance of duties and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
