About The Position

This position will work under the Local 95 Union. The shift is Monday - Friday daylight with some travel to Cranberry and Passavant. The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing gas, air, water, sewer, vacuum, medical gas, and fire suppression systems in the hospital.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Completion of five-year apprenticeship, which includes blueprint reading, mechanical drawing, mathematics, and plumbing and minimum of three years work experience.
Knowledge of State and Local plumbing codes and ordinances is required.
Driver's License
Journeyman Plumber OR Master Plumber License

Responsibilities

Perform all work following infection control procedures.
Prepare pipe for installation such as cutting, threading, removing burrs, grooving and bending.
Record work orders and submit hours to supervisor on a daily basis.
Estimate costs of installations and repair work, including requisition of material, as needed.
Fit valves, couplings and other plumbing devices by screwing, bolting or soldering and seal connections with joint compounds, gaskets or caulking by using appropriate tools.
Inspect systems for pressure loss and leaks.
Install, repair and maintain various types of pipe assemblies, plumbing fixtures and piping systems from blueprints and sketches, including but not limited to chilled water, heating hot water and medical gas.
Investigate and perform system outages.
Maintain clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas.
Mark, cut and bend pipe to meet specifications by using hacksaw, pipe cutter or cutting machine.
