About The Position
Nemours Children’s Health is seeking an experienced Plumber to join its Facilities team in Wilmington, Delaware. The position supports the hospital environment by assembling, installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fittings, and fixtures for medical gas, steam, heating, cooling, pneumatic, water, sanitary, and drainage systems. The Plumber helps maintain these systems and minimize the risk of utility interruptions. The role includes completing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting plumbing issues, responding to Facilities emergencies, interpreting technical documents, and coordinating with Facilities colleagues, contractors, and vendors. After-hours, weekend, and holiday work may be required, including participation in an on-call rotation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- At least 3 years of plumbing experience.
- Journeyman’s Plumbing License or ability to obtain one within the first 90 days of employment.
- Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Availability for after-hours, weekend, and holiday work as required, including an on-call rotation.

- 5 or more years of plumbing experience.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, piping, valves, and fixtures.
- Troubleshoot leaks, clogged drains, and other plumbing system issues.
- Complete preventive and corrective maintenance work orders.
- Respond to Facilities emergencies and help minimize utility interruptions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering documents, and plumbing schematics.
- Collaborate with Facilities colleagues, contractors, and vendors to keep systems operating effectively.
