About The Position

Tessera is seeking a skilled Plumber to assemble, install, and repair heating, water, and drainage systems at Naval Base Kitsap, Bangor (SWFPAC). This role involves reading and interpreting building plans, preparing work areas, and ensuring plumbing installations comply with specifications and codes. Working under supervision, the Plumber will support safe, efficient operations while building hands-on experience in a variety of plumbing tasks.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma/GED is required.
  • Minimum 3 years in Plumbing/closely related field. Equivalent combination of education/experience will be considered.
  • Journeyman Plumber card required.
  • Personnel inspecting, testing, certifying, and making recommendations for corrective action for backflow preventers shall be certified per UG-2029-ENV and have a Backflow Assembly Tester (BAT) certificate for the State of Washington.
  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
  • Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
  • A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
  • Satisfactory proof of U.S. citizenship must be furnished.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintenance, installation, inspection, and repair of plumbing systems, including water, sewer, gas, air, steam, pools, and related equipment.
  • Clear blockages and maintain drain lines, floor drains, vents, and storm drainage systems.
  • Repair or replace faucets, joints, valves, pumps, and plumbing fixtures to ensure efficient system operation.
  • Install and service domestic, industrial, and commercial plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, showers, heaters, and disposals.
  • Support preventive maintenance, inspections, and fire protection system component repairs.
  • Read and follow technical manuals, schematics, and work plans to perform accurate diagnostics and repairs.
  • Maintain accurate service records, generate parts requests, and use handheld devices for documentation.
  • Operate and maintain plumbing tools and equipment; participate in on-call rotation as needed.
