About The Position

The Apprentice Plumbing Installer is an entry-level field position designed for individuals with little to no prior plumbing experience who are interested in learning the plumbing trade. This role provides hands-on training while working alongside experienced plumbers and installation crews. Apprentices will develop foundational skills in plumbing installation, jobsite safety, tool usage, and teamwork while assisting with residential plumbing projects. The role focuses on learning proper installation practices, maintaining a safe work environment, and supporting the crew in delivering high-quality service to customers.

Requirements

  • Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn the plumbing trade.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to perform physical labor including lifting, digging, and working outdoors.
  • Strong attention to safety and detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools and equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior construction or trade experience a plus (preferred but not required).
  • Basic familiarity with excavation practices.
  • Mechanical aptitude and interest in learning plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Installation Support Assist lead plumbers and installation crews with residential plumbing installation projects.
  • Assemble pipes, fittings, and materials in preparation for installation.
  • Assist with jobsite preparation, including setting up containment and protecting customer property.
  • Support excavation activities while learning how to gauge depth and identify potential water tables.
  • Transport tools, materials, and equipment to job sites as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site during and after installation work.
  • Learning & Skill Development Learn basic plumbing installation techniques and trade best practices.
  • Develop strong teamwork and communication skills while working with installation crews.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and take initiative while developing trade knowledge.
  • Follow direction from lead plumbers and supervisors to safely complete assigned tasks.
  • Safety & Compliance Learn and follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) properly and consistently.
  • Demonstrate safe handling and proper use of tools and equipment.
  • Promote a culture of workplace safety and continuous improvement.
  • Equipment & Vehicle Care Ensure proper care and maintenance of company tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work vehicle and jobsite materials.
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials and tools.
