About The Position

This position performs journey duties in the installation, maintenance, and repair of air, gas, water, and waste disposal systems. Routine work assignments involve locating needed repairs, and assignments of a special or unusual nature are accompanied by specific instructions. The incumbent exercises considerable independence in performing routine work, but unprecedented assignments are usually discussed with or supervised by a foreman. Work is reviewed by the foreman through inspection of work in progress and on the basis of satisfactory operation of equipment repaired or installed. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits and established working hours of Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. It may require working beyond normal work schedules to meet business needs.

Requirements

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of experience in the repair, replacement or construction of piping systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Appropriate licensure by the governing board or commission may be required based on the nature of work performed.
