About The Position
The NC Department of Administration is seeking applicants for an HVAC Technician for our Facility Management division. The primary mission of Facility Management is to provide a safe and healthful work environment for employees and the public in a cost effective and energy efficient manner. This mission is accomplished by performing routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance to state facilities owned by and allocated to the Department of Administration.
Requirements
- Ability to install plumbing systems per plans and specifications
- Ability to diagnose and make repairs to malfunctioning plumbing systems, fixtures and components
- Ability to use the tools and test equipment commonly used in Plumbing
- Working knowledge of State and local plumbing codes
- Working knowledge of the operation and maintenance of building hot and cold-water systems, irrigation systems and drainage systems.
- High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of experience in the repair, replacement or construction of piping systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- May require appropriate licensure by the governing board or commission.
Nice To Haves
- At least (5) years of progressive experience in industrial/commercial Plumbing
Responsibilities

- Ability to test and repair backflow systems (certification required or the ability to obtain in one year)
