About The Position

The PLT Die Shop Tooling Technician requires a good understanding and knowledge of the tool and die making process. This will be used to develop extrusion tooling. The Commercial Die Maker will use CNC milling machines, read blueprints, and engineering designs. Develop extrusion tooling using CNC milling machine following designs and specs from engineering. Follow extrusion DTO’s and determine set-ups. Provide support for Bytewise profiling equipment. Maintain records of tooling rework and historical data. Provide assistance in solving processing problems. Maintain component weight records while working toward improvements in weight reduction and variation. Communicate and work with outside shops when special ordering materials. Commercial Die Maker will follow standard practices, observe all safety and environmental policies, perform all work necessary to promptly and accurately obtain quality and quantity production, and keeping Die shop areas neat, clean, aligned and orderly. Effectively communicate with engineering, hourly operators, and members of the management team. Perform other duties as directed by the Die Shop Manager Manufacturing Expert. Ensure all ESH procedures, policies and legal requirements are implemented and monitored. NOTE: May not be inclusive of all work required and may be updated as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or 5 years experience required
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
