PLM System Analyst

About The Position

The PLM System Analyst is part of the Product Lifecycle Management Technology Team, working closely with Centric Developers and the Merchant, Design & Product Creation business teams. This role involves defining requirements for Centric configuration projects by eliciting and analyzing requirements, liaising between business and technical resources, and documenting business processes or systems and their integrations. The analyst is a critical thinker who dives into details to understand the 'how's' and 'why's', defining, configuring, testing, and implementing new solutions, managing process changes, and supporting users. The Merchandising and Product Lifecycle Technology team is responsible for the enterprise-wide Product Lifecycle Management System (Centric), which is the core system used by Design, Product Development, and Merchant teams. In this role, the analyst will collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure the reliability, security, and stability of the PLM ecosystem, and to deliver new systems and interfaces that connect people and processes across Arc'teryx's value chain.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or post-secondary education in Information Technology, Business, or a related field
  • 3+ years' experience as a System Analyst, Business Analyst, and/or Process Specialist in an agile software development environment
  • Prior experience working with a PLM, PIM, and/or Merchandising System, within the apparel/gear/footwear/fashion industry
  • A high level of analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels of partners
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to explain, articulate, and document concepts, business processes, systems and business requirements efficiently
  • Experience working on Integration Projects
  • Experience working on PLM upgrades and migrations
  • Experience with implementing Change Management practices
  • Experience using Jira
  • Technical skills in advanced Excel, SQL script writing, and/or XML Script Writing
  • Experience effectively managing multiple competing priorities

Responsibilities

  • Serving as the Subject Matter Expert for the Centric PLM and Visual Boards systems
  • Demonstrating expertise in Centric configuration, object structure, understanding attributes, Enums, type configurations, forms, copy templates, Lookup items, debugging, and site file investigation
  • Working closely with Technology teams on integration projects to define system requirements
  • Executing configuration for new Centric features and enhancements, collaborating with Centric consultants as needed
  • Facilitating and managing stakeholder engagement, building close relationships with business teams, and supporting change management initiatives
  • Analyzing current business processes and collaborating with users to define business problems and/or areas for improvement or increased efficiency
  • Recommending new processes, process flows, tools, or system solutions aligned with company goals
  • Collaborating closely with Business Analysts to assess the cross-departmental impact of business change requests
  • Translating business requirements into detailed and actionable specifications for use by Centric consultants and developers
  • Preparing and coordinating system changes for release, including organizing and leading product demo sessions, user training, maintaining guides and/or help tools, and managing the implementation phase of new features
  • Providing user support by analyzing, documenting, prioritizing, and solving incidents reported by Centric users or for other systems the team supports
  • Reporting dysfunctions to the Centric support team, contributing to problem-solving, and communicating solutions to business teams clearly and concisely
  • Conducting analysis and testing on Centric upgrades and service packs, advising on which opportunities to persue
  • Participating in retrospective sessions to gather feedback from partners and ensure continuous improvement
  • Being an integral part of our Apparel and Gear PLM system re-implementation project, which will lay the system groundwork for Arc’teryx’s ambitious development goals for 2030
  • Integrating of 3D Development Processes into the PLM System
  • Developing and supporting business use cases with AI technologies to improve efficiency and data accuracy
  • Leading the implementation of new system features and enhancements to support ongoing business technology transformation across Product Design, Product Execution, Sourcing, and Merchandise Planning
