About The Position

Pet Paradise is seeking a Seasonal Playtime Coordinator for its Hilton Head resort. The role organizes and manages daytime play groups and provides attentive care for dogs in play areas, including the play yard and pool. Coordinators monitor dogs, encourage safe play, help manage stress and unusual or aggressive behavior, and assist with cleaning and play-yard maintenance. The starting rate is $13.50 per hour, with a $0.50 increase six months after the hire date and an additional $0.50 increase on the annual anniversary date.

Team members help provide pets with loving care and focused attention in a safe, entertaining environment. The position may offer opportunities to apply for leadership, dog training, and grooming academies, as well as other pet-care training programs.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
• A true passion for working with animals.
• Ability to work in all-weather conditions, including heat and humidity, and exposure to pool water.
• Comfort around dogs of all sizes and physical ability to handle dogs of all sizes and lift up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, pull, push, and grasp.
• Flexibility to meet resort scheduling needs, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times.

Responsibilities

• Interact with and monitor dogs in play areas, including the play yard and pool, using appropriate toys and tools to maintain safe play.
• Maintain visual observation of dogs at all times and distribute attention and play among all dogs in the play group.
• Minimize stress among dogs and handle aggressive or unusual behaviors.
• Control play levels by following management procedures and instructions and using proper dog-handling techniques.
• Assist the team with cleaning and play-yard maintenance duties.
