About The Position

This position is responsible for developing and maintaining positive and strong professional relationships with casino guests. This position also oversees the activities of Star Rewards as it relates to serving our guests, in relation to casino marketing, player acquisition, development and retention. This position also supervises the team members in this area. In all interactions, the position is responsible for providing STAR Experience to guests and fellow team members as a first priority.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a related field, with a minimum of one-year related gaming and marketing experience and one year of supervisory experience.
  • Three years of gaming experience with marketing expertise, with documentation of a marketing work history that demonstrates increased levels of responsibility over a period of time and one year of supervisory experience, may be accepted or a combination of education or experience.
  • Must meet all licensing requirements as prescribed by the Tribal- State Compact for Gaming.
  • Upon hire must complete and pass complementary services training.
  • Knowledge to apply internal gaming controls.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply commonly accepted rules of grammar, spelling and punctuation in written communication to develop management reports and summaries.
  • Power Point, Outlook and Explorer.
  • Skill in basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages, and decimals.
  • Skill of developing and maintaining positive relationships with external and internal customers.
  • Skill in preparing written materials such as correspondence, reports and proposals to meet purpose and audience.
  • Skill of determining alternatives that would correct a situation to provide effective guest service.
  • Skill of receiving a message, understanding the intended message and giving feedback to ensure guest expectations are met.
  • Skill of delegating authority and encouraging and supporting risk taking to develop responsible team members and management team.
  • Ability to use a personal computer and related software including Word, Excel
  • Ability to work cooperatively within a group to make the work of the group successful and effective.
  • Ability to read and write and interpret English documents such as gaming controls and procedure manuals, safety rules, and operation and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to following procedures and give attention to detail
  • Ability to occasionally stand for moderate periods of time (up to 4 hours).
  • Ability to frequently sit for moderate periods of time (up to 4 hours).
  • Ability to plan for company operations in financial terms for a given period of time to estimate and evaluate income and expenses.
  • Ability to be flexible, employ a sense of urgency, quickly adjust plans, and execute to meet changing or immediate marketing opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a high level of professional guest service.
  • Promotes the star rewards card usage and develops positive relationships with casino guests.
  • Encourage guests to use the star rewards card and explain benefits of the star rewards card.
  • Listens to guest comments and feedback to ensure Star Rewards program is meeting guest expectation.
  • Promote casino events and promotions and answer guest questions about these.
  • Refers guests to appropriate personnel for issue resolution.
  • Supervises the selection, training, development, and performance of assigned team members to retain a motivated, professional workforce for the Shooting Star Casino Hotel and Event Center.
  • Establishes and communicates job responsibilities and performance expectations to ensure mutual understanding of desired results.
  • Reviews attendance exception reports on a regular basis, makes the necessary comments and forwards it to the time administrator.
  • Assesses associate performance and provides positive and constructive feedback on an ongoing basis to reinforce desired results.
  • Identifies training and/or development opportunities that will assist the associate in achieving enhanced job performance and/or career objectives.
  • Supervises assigned team members.
  • Rewards and disciplines team members.
  • Ensures and maintains player data in the player relation system.
  • Prepares daily shift reports for the Player Relations Senior Marketing Manager and Director of Marketing.
  • Ensure Casino Hosts are utilizing the player software system.
  • Answers all Error in Procedure (EIP) and returns them to Accounting.
  • Provide a general report for the next shift of any problems or concerns during your shift.
  • Oversee guest service as it relates to coat check.
  • Uses database analysis and insights as revenue producing key factors.
  • Provides regular feedback to the Marketing Director on strategic plan and may participate in strategic planning or updates.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
