Platform Operator - Food Service Fresh - Shift 2
About The Position
This position will report to the Supervisor and is a Full-Time Regular, Non-Exempt role with a pay scale of $20.00 - $22.00. The Platform Operator will be responsible for controlling and monitoring the entire plant product flow and product quality, ensuring baggers and pack lines are fed efficiently. Bolthouse Fresh Foods is a leader in carrot production, serving as a grower, packer, processor, and shipper, headquartered in Bakersfield, California, with approximately 1,600 employees. Since 1915, the company has been committed to growing and producing high-quality carrots and is one of North America’s largest growers and distributors of fresh carrots for cooking and snacking, also supplying premium natural ingredients for the food and beverage industry.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
- Ability to use the equipment and tools used to perform the job
- Ability to take direction from supervision
- Good mathematical skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a fast paced, high volume food production/manufacturing facility
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Experience in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, and Word
Responsibilities
- Operating plant controls and monitoring equipment status to ensure the efficient operation of the entire plant
- Receiving instructions from managers and executing plans
- Communicating with PDA’s via radio to make adjustments to production as needed to ensure product flow is appropriate
- Operating computer on the mezzanine while observing the flow and adjusting as necessary
- Maintaining and logging production records daily and signing off required documents
- Sending accurate production reports at the end of every shift
- Performing field changes and communicating any quality issue to supervisor and manager
- Operating forklift to dump bin into hopper
- Performing other duties as assigned
