Requirements

  • Approximately 6+ years of experience in platform engineering.
  • Expertise in AWS, including ECS, VPC networking, IAM, and multi-account setups.
  • Experience building and scaling these systems.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and observability.
  • Experience optimizing pipelines.
  • Experience writing Terraform or CDK.
  • Experience building monitoring that provides useful information.
  • Experience keeping databases healthy under pressure, including Aurora MySQL, query tuning, and reader scaling.
  • Ability to spot problems, figure out fixes, and ship them independently.
  • Comfort working in a dynamic environment, handling both strategic infrastructure work and urgent operational tasks.
  • Wild curiosity about industry trends, including AI tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Own the infrastructure that powers our fintech BNPL platform, including AWS, CI/CD, observability, security, databases, and networking.
  • Tune ECS clusters and plan capacity.
  • Set up connectivity for new credit union partners.
  • Dial in Datadog monitors.
  • Own capacity planning, right-sizing, and getting ahead of bottlenecks across ECS, RDS, and the rest of the stack.
  • Maintain cloud networking and VPN connectivity as new FI partners come online.
  • Get Datadog monitoring to a place where the team trusts it, including building NOC dashboards, writing alerts, and standing up an on-call rotation.
  • Keep CI/CD pipelines fast, reliable, and locked down, especially as the monorepo scales.
  • Ensure dev teams can deploy confidently within platform standards.
  • Work through vulnerability backlogs and tighten IAM.
  • Triage vulnerability tickets.
