About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking a Platform Engineer for an on-site contract position with a Major Financial Institution in Itasca, IL. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. The role focuses on providing expertise in platform engineering to design, build, and maintain technology solutions. The ideal candidate will leverage their technical knowledge and industry experience to develop software components and hardware for complex projects, ensuring alignment with business strategies and objectives while maintaining secure, scalable, and reliable deliverables.

Requirements

• 6-8 years of experience in a related field
• Direct experience with physical data center operations including rack-and-stack, structured copper and fiber cabling, hardware break-fix, and asset management
• Solid understanding of power, cooling, and physical security controls
• Knowledge of Machine Learning, Risk Assessments, and Enterprise Architecture Frameworks
• Strong technical knowledge and design skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience with standard tooling such as ServiceNow, Jira, CMDB, and DCIM systems

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise on platform engineering while overseeing the team's effort and meeting customer needs
• Use technical knowledge and industry experience to design, build and maintain technology solutions
• Develop software components and hardware for complex projects, aligning them with business strategies and objectives
• Provide expertise on best practices, standards, engineering approaches and complex technical resolutions for processes
• Place emphasis on quality improvement efforts, ensuring that deliverables are secure, scalable and reliable
• Communicate with customers and integrate their needs with development to meet business objectives
