About The Position

Seamless Migration is seeking a career- and customer-oriented Platform Engineer to deploy, configure, administer, and maintain infrastructure and enterprise applications across Development, Test, and Production environments. The role includes installing and maintaining applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8/9), PostgreSQL databases, Java runtimes, application libraries, and supporting dependencies. The engineer manages application configurations, system permissions, access controls, SSL/TLS certificates, and network connectivity, and coordinates with VMware and Linux administrators to maintain virtual machines and supporting infrastructure. The Platform Engineer troubleshoots operating system, application, database, networking, and infrastructure issues; performs updates, patching, maintenance, and configuration changes; and supports software deployments in air-gapped and disconnected networks, including offline dependency management. The position also develops scripts and automation, supports infrastructure automation and configuration management with tools such as Ansible and Terraform, assists with virtual machine deployment and automated provisioning, and collaborates with development teams on application integrations, REST APIs, and automated workflows. The role includes configuring and maintaining supporting infrastructure services, documenting installation procedures and operational processes, and working with government stakeholders, infrastructure teams, and developers to ensure reliable and secure system operations. An existing TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly is required to start. Locations listed are Alexandria, Virginia; Washington, DC; Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Reston, Virginia.

Requirements

Existing TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly required to start.
Experience administering Linux systems and independently installing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise applications.
Working knowledge of Linux networking, permissions, access controls, and security configurations, including SSL/TLS certificates.
Practical knowledge of PostgreSQL database installation and administration, with familiarity supporting Java environments and software dependencies.
Familiarity with Ansible, Terraform, and automated server provisioning.
Experience with Bash or Python scripting and infrastructure automation or configuration management tools.
Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and application integrations.
Experience supporting applications and infrastructure across Development, Test, and Production environments.
Ability to troubleshoot issues across operating systems, applications, databases, and networks.

Nice To Haves

Hands-on experience with virtualized infrastructure and automated server provisioning.
Familiarity with Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, or CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of JavaScript, Node.js, or container tools such as Docker and Podman.
Experience supporting classified, air-gapped, or DoD/Intelligence Community environments, including offline installations and dependency management.
Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring, performance optimization, and system availability.

Responsibilities

Support software installations and deployments within air-gapped and disconnected networks, including offline dependency management.
Develop and maintain scripts and automation to streamline infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, and administration.
Support infrastructure automation and configuration management using tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
Assist with virtual machine deployment, server configuration, and automated provisioning processes.
Collaborate with development teams to support application integrations, REST APIs, and automated workflows.
Configure and maintain supporting infrastructure services to ensure application availability, performance, and security.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, installation procedures, configuration standards, and operational processes.
Work with government stakeholders, infrastructure teams, and developers to ensure reliable and secure system operations.
